What a Twist – Cinemagraph

Went back and experimented with a photograph. Building ideas for how this could be put to better use in the near future!

The photo is from the lake across the street a few days ago.

I want to work with these a LOT more. Very very easy, and very fun to make. From the start of post to the exporting of the .gif this took maybe 15-20 minutes.

I live in the greater Seattle area. I have my BFA in graphic design and visual communication from Northwest College of Art. I've been largely influenced by the area that I've grown up in. My largest passion is for print design, having worked both in a print shop and screen printing company. 1. yup. πŸ™‚ It’s just a masking effect so there’s really two layered images, the top one is only visible through the circles though. Then all that’s left is creating the frames of the rotation. To have it go further, it would be easy to add more frames.

    1. I’ve played a little bit with the lytro files, the downside to them is they need the little lytro app to work and aren’t mobile friendly. I’ve been wanting to make a .gif with roll over hotspots to simulate the same effect, but haven’t had the time yet.
