Tiny Cone

This was an experiment with doing macro time-lapse. (The pinecone is about the size of your thumbnail) I thought it would be interesting to have shadows move over the pinecone, but it turned out it was much more interesting just having it in the sun and watching it open up some. I will definitely be… Continue reading Tiny Cone

Forest Path Shadows

Pools of light are the most mobil pools around. Honestly I was taking a nap on the side of the trail over the 30 minutes or so this was cooking. The temperature was just too comfortable not to.

The Freeway

When I find someplace that I think is pretty, I’ll sit there and watch the world happen.

Old Train Bridge

While waiting for this time-lapse I kept myself busy under seemingly still skies. Watching it after the fact was mesmerizing┬áto see the turmoil that was actually happening above me. (Sorry about the big file, I didn’t have the heart to make it shorter)

Rolling Clouds

Last week I took a much needed day off and time-lapsed a few clouds. I love watching time-lapse of clouds. It gives them life and movement that are almost impossible to grasp by just watching them in person. Soon as to changes the speed and context though, they give the sky a mood and a… Continue reading Rolling Clouds

The Hike Down

A couple of quick images from hiking last weekend with my roommate and his girlfriend. Lightly experimenting with putting alternate colors into images.

Floating Oddity

I went camping with a couple friends last weekend. There were strange things floating all over. To the eye they looked like they were barely there if at all. Once you get them on camera and run the images through some treatments (see photoshop, after effects, & cinema 4d) these little strange things begin to… Continue reading Floating Oddity

The Fast Way Down the Mountain

Here’s the first of many fun nuggets of joy from last weekends backpacking trip. We covered about 17 miles in three days. On Saturday I wandered off alone all day to see where it would take me. One of the places I wound up was in a huge field of flowers, ferns, blueberries, and huckleberries.… Continue reading The Fast Way Down the Mountain

Three Climates – The Coast

Here’s the second section! About a month ago I made my way out to the very tip of Washington with a few friends and of course brought my camera! Keeping the same theme as the first section, these are a little on the experimental side as well. All of the panoramas that I’ve been posting… Continue reading Three Climates – The Coast

Three Climates – The Forest

Over the past few weeks I’ve managed to get out and about quite a bit. On these outings of work and play, I’ve managed to spend time hiking in the mountains, swimming on the coast, and walking through the flats of eastern Washington. So, starting with the forrest since that’s the closest to home. Here… Continue reading Three Climates – The Forest
